Blok launches exquisite exhibition space
Urban property developers, Blok, are excited to announce the launch of their exhibition space in the old New York Bagels building in Sea Point. This space is marked on Sea Point’s Regent Road with the words: “YOU ARE HERE”. As developers that are constantly looking for new practices and innovative ways to communicate and connect with their market, Blok has once again challenged the norm of the property industry. The launch of their exhibition space is the first of its kind in the industry and as off-plan developers this space gives future homeowners the opportunity to tangibly experience the luxury of a Blok apartment before it is built. The move to the new space has excited Blok as it is in line with their passion for regenerating and breathing new life into existing buildings. Also, this iconic building was seen as an opportunity and new challenge for the design team to create a brand extension experience.
Jacques van Embden, MD and Co-Founder of Blok, says, “As a brand we are looking to create new opportunities to showcase our offering. Our architectural team design buildings that are currently shared as high quality renders. However, we have seen the need to give our future homeowners the opportunity to touch and feel the warmth and exquisite design of a Blok apartment. This is what this exhibition space offers.” The space will not only be used to showcase Blok – its purpose is multi-functional. The first floor is designed to display all the elements that make up a Blok apartment including the flawless kitchen, bathroom, warm and stylish lounge and summer deck. All these elements are brought together in a modern setting. The second floor is completely white flushed with the apartment renders, across all five of Blok’s developments launched so far, hung up on the walls in a gallery style. It is completed with quirky touches like the swings at the entrance and a corner-to-corner map ceiling feature that extends from inside to the exterior of the building. The second function of the space opens itself up to company engagement and experimentation. The exhibition space will not only be open to future homeowners to explore by day, it will also be available to use for photoshoots, gallery exhibitions and exclusive events. Blok has brought on brand partners within the space that understand their philosophy on quality. So to ensure that this space is truly representative of Blok, their partners Smeg, Oggie, Beauty Fires and Pierre Cronje have added the final finishing touches to the space. The scene is set and now Blok is ready to welcome South Africa’s city dwellers and families to their future home.
Blok is an urban property developer that operates in Cape Town’s Atlantic Seaboard and CBD. Thoughtfully designed spaces echo their design ethos of “four walls make an apartment, but not necessarily a home”; instead Blok has chosen to deliver apartments with considered spaces such as home offices, fireplaces, daybeds and bars; in the aim of building modern urban homes that are thoughtfully designed.
Beyond the front door, Blok has undertaken to make a lasting and meaningful contribution to the neighbourhoods in which it develops. By getting involved in Crime ‘n Grime initiatives as well as upliftment projects that benefit not only Blok owners, but their neighbours.
With sales to date of R925m+, as well as successful urban intervention projects including the installation of the Blade bicycle parking system on the Sea Point Promenade and Thornhill Park revamp in Greenpoint opposite their SEVENONT development, amongst others; Blok is no longer the newcomer in the property scene, but a serious contender that is making waves with their urban focus and community ethos.
